The items donated will go to Warming
Families. Warming Families is a non-denominational
charity project
sponsored by One Heart Foundation. This 100% volunteer
project has
a two fold mission
-
Provide much needed hats, mittens, scarves, slippers, sweaters, teddy
bears,
blankets, etc. to homeless families and individuals (in homeless
shelters,
orphanages, etc.) throughout the world.
-
Provide a mechanism where families as well as other community groups
and
individuals can work together to provide these items.
Warming Family volunteer Dee Chouinard (our Area
Volunteer) will
deliver items collected in this area to northern Massachusetts and
southern
New Hampshire shelters, to be used by or given to the people they
service.
Only new, either handmade or store bought items are delivered through
this
project, giving a person who has been displaced from their home
something
brand new with which to keep warm. Items in the past have
been delivered
to
The connection to Warming Families was made through the Monadnock
Crochet
Guild of Rindge of which Penny Chace is a member. |
