Welcome to our web page!
For some people, walking through the front door of a church is a warm
and familiar experience, like coming home after a hard day at work or
sleeping in your own bed after a long vacation.
For others of us, entering a church can be a frightening experience.
Maybe we are worried, or someone once told us in one way or another
that we were not good enough. Maybe we're not really sure about what we
believe. Perhaps we’ve even had a bad experience with some
stuck-up, holier-than-thou, ultra-prim and proper church folks. Or,
maybe we’ve just got more questions than answers as to what
Church is about, anyway.
Well I promise you, whoever you are and wherever on life’s
journey you find yourself, at our church you will be welcomed.
Please look around our web site and check out our mission, our beliefs,
and our activities. This will give you a taste of what life in
our church community is like. But it won’t tell the whole
story. To get the full flavor, you’ve got to taste it
for yourself ... you'll need to visit us, to check us out in person.
There are many ways to be a part of this active, vibrant, and growing
community. I think that you'll find something here that feeds
your spirit, challenges your mind, and nourishes your soul. You won't
find any entrance exams, admission fees, or tests of faith, for we
encourage one another as we all seek to better understand God.
You won’t be judged on your style of dress, for we don't dress up
often, and our gatherings are pretty casual. Chances are,
you’ll leave with a smile on your face, because we love to laugh,
and we love to talk. We love to eat too, and a lot of our
get-togethers include a meal or a snack; what's not to like?
Regardless, whether for you Church feels like being wrapped with a warm
blanket, or taking a plunge into a cold mountain stream, if you believe
God is ever calling us to do more, to experience more, to be more than
we might ever otherwise dream, then Church is a very good place to
pursue that greater dream. I invite you, join us in your quest.
Grace to you and peace,
Rev. Jim Melhorn - Pastor |
