Lorri Bond
Lorri has been the Music Director at the Rindge Congregational Church for the past 3 years and enjoys using song to brighten the spirit.  She looks forward to broadening her existing friendships within the congregation and to providing a welcoming atmosphere for new members.  Lorri lives in Peterborough, NH with her husband, Josh, and two children, Evelyn and Miles.

Max and I live in Rindge at Hampshire Country School.  Max is in forth grade at Rindge Memorial School.  I am a dorm parent and activities teacher at Hampshire Country School.  We moved here five years ago from VA and have been looking for a home church.  We both really enjoy church and the people who attend and that is why we would like to be part of this community.

I was raised a Roman Catholic and was rather devout up until about age 19 - 20, when I questioned some of the required dogma.  That made me a lapsed Catholic, which is how I thought of myself.  Because I loved the rituals of Catholicism and their ability to foster something like mystical experiences, I found protestant churches to be flat, ho-hum and just unappealing.  I did try out a couple of Unitarian churches and found one I could regularly attend when I moved to Boston in 1990.  But when the pastor retired, I stopped going.  Over the years I have borrowed some aspects of Buddhism, Hinduism, and even Daoism.  I decided to join the Congregational Church of Rindge because it is such a welcoming place.  "Fellowship" was new to me and I liked it because I understand God, primarily, to be the positive / loving energy between people.

In February 2005 Kathy & I moved from Rindge to Myrtle Beach, SC.....we enjoyed the warm weather & the 60 miles of white sand beach.  We joined the First Methodist Church, became very active & met many new Friends.  When Kathy died suddenly in September 2010, I came back to New England where our 4 children, 9 grand children, & 1 great grandchild all live within 1 hour of Rindge.

I was recently accepted into the national honor society, and am currently learning to speak French, but I love anything Japanese!  I love to sing, and want to play Eponine in Les Miserables. My other hobbies are acting, and drawing anime (My favorite is Naruto).  I do some volunteer work, and would like to do more.  I am very excited to join the church, and look forward to serving my community further!

Barbara Woodbury
Barbara has 2 adult sons, Peter and Tom.  She lives in Jaffrey at Forest Park Estates.  Barbara is delighted to be a member of this church. She feels at home and everyone is always nice to her.  She thinks she's jinxed at celebrating membership. A year ago she had her first stroke just before “the day”.  She had a mini stroke last week and is unable to be here today!  The love of Barbara's life is her parakeet George. He has a green body, yellow head and a blue tail.  George is 2 years old. Barbara loves to read, knit, crochet and do embroidery in her spare time.

I feel the UCC was absolutely the best choice for me. I would like to thank Barbara Wells for encouraging me to attend “Bring a Friend Sunday”.  I encountered her while she was watering flowers on the Town Common. She invited me to meet her at the church entrance at 9:45am if I was interested. She continued her watering.  This was the beginning of my wonderful journey at the church.  I’m glad our retirement home was built so near the church of my faith, and I want to go forward with this as best I can in my senior years.
