Mission
Ministry Team Sponsors Potluck Supper
Greg and Sheree Hodgson from
Toah Nipi Guest Speakers
October 4, 2002 |
| On October 4th,
the Mission Ministry Team sponsored
a potluck supper at 6:30pm in the town
hall. Over 20 people
turned out to enjoy a sumptuous meal and fellowship. The
highlight
of the evening was listening to Greg and Sheree talked about Toah
Nipi,
an InterVarsity Christian Center located on Old Ashburnham Road in
Rindge.
Greg and Sheree talked about how they came to Toah
Nipi and their goals
and hopes for integrating the center into the community. Toah
Nipi
is one of four InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Camps.

They extended an invitation
for us to visit and use the
center. In fact, opportunities exist for us to volunteer our
time
and services as a way to extend our own mission outreach.
The mission of InterVarsity
is to establish and
advance at colleges and universities, witnessing communities of
students
and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord. To that end,
Toah
Nipi host retreats at the center where groups from many colleges seek
opportunities
to be with other believers in a pastoral community setting where they
can
explore God's call in relation to their dreams and futures, seeking his
direction for their lives.
Greg and Sheree also talked
about and showed a video
on His Mansion Ministries in Deering, New
Hampshire. Started
in part by Sheree's father, His Mansion Ministries seeks to mend broken
lives and brings hope and healing to disenfranchised young
people.
One of their foundational beliefs is the majority of life-destroying
conditions
are the by-product of sin, therefore it is necessary to deal with the
sin
and its resulting guilt, in order to produce healing of body and soul.
People who face difficulties associated with abuse of alcohol and
drugs,
eating disorders, sexual and physical abuse, and many other
debilitating
maladies can experience relief when they participate in a program that
is particularly designed to offer spiritual healing.
