Baptism
Communion
| Sunday May 2, 2004 presented a unique opportunity
for us to perform
two sacraments during the service. In addition to communion
(as is
our tradition on the first Sunday of the month), we also celebrated a
baptism
for Nicole Fleming.
"Sacraments are ritual actions in worship which, according to Scripture, were instituted by Jesus. In the sacraments of baptism and communion we ask the Holy Spirit to use water, bread, and wine to make visible the grace, forgiveness, and presence of God in Christ." United

Parents Mark and Katrina Fleming witness and
support Nicole as she
is baptized. What is important to note is that Nicole made her own
decisions
on being baptized and how the sacrament would be carried out.
Nicole is also the granddaughter of Dick and Donna Docekal. On this day, we welcome Nicole into the Body of Christ and the fellowship of God's people. |
