Memorial Service for Rev. James M. Melhorn
In the year 2000 the Rev. Jim Melhorn came, with family, to Rindge, New Hampshire, to take his position as Pastor of the First Congregational Church.
In the years since then, and until very nearly the moment of his abrupt passing, Jim brought to this church his love, his faith, and his commitment.
All his words and deeds throughout the time of his service have been in support of our Church Family, and he gave, if not his all, certainly his very best.

Jim was stricken while visiting with his daughter at college in Washington DC, preparing for her return home for the summer, and he
died not many days thereafter.  It was abrupt and totally unexpected.

In faith we choose to believe that death is not The End; and if this be so, then surely Jim will already have found other
demanding, interesting, and exciting ways to serve our Creator.

Our consolation is that we can look forward to someday checking in with him and being informed about all these new involvements.
He will certainly have much to tell us with untrammeled enthusiasm.

Until then, we will miss you, Jim.  Be well.  Do well.  Go with God.

The family prepared a table of memorabilia.  The rock (just beneath the photograph) was taken  from Horton Center, and a large contingent of friends from Horton was present.

Jim's love for music of many genres was a wonderful part of his contribution to us.  He especially loved country/bluegrass-style Gospel.
The Rev. Bill Beardslee conducted the service.

And, at the last, we remember our friend as we knew him these past 9 years.
